SCRIPTURE: James 3:13-18
SHOW NOTES: James asks this question, “Who is wise and understanding among you?” He points to one’s conduct, good works, and the discipline of his tongue. The Hebrew word for wisdom is chokma. Wise living means applying Biblical principles to everyday life. It is the ability to view life from God’s perspective and then order our life according to His will. James will contrast earthly wisdom (vv. 14-16) with heavenly wisdom (v. 17). He wants us to clearly see the difference and to seek “wisdom from above.” Do I turn to the Lord and ask Him to give me the wisdom I need today? “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives freely.” And for those who walk in wisdom “a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
