Scripture: 1 Kings 3:1-12
SHOW NOTES:
Let’s read 1 Kings, chapter 3, and learn more about Solomon. David has died, and Solomon is the new king of Israel. This story prepares us for Solomon's building of the temple of the Lord.
The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.”
- 1 Kings 3:5
Solomon asked the Lord to give him an understanding mind to discern between good and evil. He acknowledged he could not govern the people of Israel alone, and it pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked for wisdom.
Do I seek the Lord’s wisdom, discernment, and instruction? If I want to learn and become wise, I must first humble myself before the Lord and acknowledge my need for His wisdom.
