Scripture: Proverbs 29-30

SHOW NOTES:

The Book of Proverbs is filled with wise sayings and uses repetition as a teaching tool. In chapter 29, the conjunction "but" connects ideas that contrast each other.

When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, BUT when a wicked man rules, people groan.
- Proverbs 29:2

As we work through these verses, pay attention to the contrasts between the righteous and the wicked. When we have righteous hearts and walk with God, we will show care and concern for others.

We can learn more about the Lord daily by studying His Word, praying, and meditating on Scripture verses. In chapter 30, the author admits that he has not acquired wisdom and does not know God well. He recognizes God’s word is true and pure.

Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
- Proverbs 30:5

Consider the small creatures of this world, for they are remarkably wise: ants, rock badgers, locusts, and lizards (Proverbs 30:24-28). These simple beings offer valuable lessons to each of us.
