Scripture: Luke 24:13-27
Show Notes:
Today, we begin a new series of lessons – Treasure in the Word. What do we treasure? How do we define the word, treasure?
The Psalmist reminds us, “The law of the Lord is perfect … more to be desired than gold, even much fine gold … sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb” (Ps. 19:7-10). The Apostle Paul writes these words, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom” (Col. 3:16).
This lesson begins with two people walking together from Jerusalem to the town of Emmaus, and then Jesus joins them. He asks, “What are you talking about?” This question surprises Cleopas, and he responds, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”
They were unable to recognize Jesus. Then Jesus speaks, “Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted to them all the Scriptures concerning Himself.” This is the best Bible study ever.
