Today we look at another remarkable role angels play in Scripture: interpreting visions and revealing mysteries to God’s people. These aren’t minor, background moments — again and again, when God wants a person to truly understand something beyond their comprehension, He sends an angel to walk them through it, verse by verse and image by image, until it makes sense.
When I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it. And behold, there stood before me one having the appearance of a man. And I heard a human voice between the banks of the Ulai, and it called, “Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.” So he came near where I stood. And when he came, I was frightened and fell on my face. But he said to me, “Understand, O son of man, that the vision is for the time of the end.”

Head to Heart:
Messengers were sent to help the prophets understand the visions sent from the Lord. While most believers today do not experience prophetic visions, we can follow Daniel’s example. He tried to understand, but the Lord sent an angel to help him. As believers, we have God’s Written Word and the Holy Spirit. We can ask for the Lord’s guidance, wisdom, and insight. Take time to search the Scriptures and pray for discernment.
