Scripture: Revelation 21:9-27
SHOW NOTES:
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
- Revelation 21:1-2
God will make all things new—a new heaven and a new earth. The holy city, New Jerusalem, will be filled with God’s glory and its brilliance. John describes the city’s magnificent beauty.
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
- Revelation 21:10-11
To be gathered with all believers, people from every nation, tribe, and tongue—the Lamb’s bride. What a glorious sight! God’s Holy Presence in the New Jerusalem. John warns his readers that only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter the New Jerusalem. We must choose to follow the Lamb—accept His gift of salvation—today.
Head to Heart
What will that beautiful gathering of the Lamb’s bride be like? The description John gives falls short of its glory and magnificence! Still, these verses should fill our hearts with great hope and anticipation.
